In each of our majors, students learn skills that will enable them to excel in the workforce and develop innovative solutions to problems facing people and the planet. All undergraduate engineering majors are also available as Honors Degrees.

Biomedical Engineering

Eduardo Nombera-Bueno, a chemical engineering and material science and engineering double major recently received a competitive scholarship from the American Chemical Society, awarded to underrepresented minorities with strong academic and leadership skills. He is doing research into potential bio-fuels at the Center for Plastics Innovation on campus. Story will hopefully aid in the materials science recruitment cause. The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to students from historically underrepresented groups in the chemical sciences, majoring in chemistry-related disciplines, and intending to pursue chemistry-related careers. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000 per academic year.

SPECTRUM SCHOLARS

UD’s Spectrum Scholars program promotes a welcoming environment for undergraduate students with autism that enhances their ability to thrive in academic environments and campus life. In collaboration with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and administered by the University’s Center for Disabilities Studies, undergraduate students with autism receive comprehensive coaching and career development opportunities during their undergraduate experience as they work toward a successful career.

4+1 Bachelors/Masters Programs

4+1 Bachelors/Masters Programs are designed to allow well-qualified students the opportunity to earn a Bachelors and Master's degree within a 5-year period of time, assuming they stay on track with their curriculum.
