ICE arrests 50 illegal migrants in one day on felony charges

Immigration and Customs Enforcement obtained and executed 50 criminal arrest warrants for illegals accused of felonies on July 23, the agency said Thursday.

"The warrants are related to ICE’s Title 8 authority over non-citizens who threaten public safety and have previously been removed from the United States," according to an ICE.

The arrestees included:

• A 43-year-old citizen of Honduras in Houston, convicted of felony continuous sex abuse of a child. The individual is being charged in the Southern District of Texas for illegal reentry after deportation.
• A 38-year-old citizen of Honduras in Houston convicted of felony sexual assault of a child. The individual faces charges in the Southern District of Texas for illegal reentry after deportation.
• A 51-year-old citizen of Honduras in Forney, Texas, convicted of attempted first-degree felony murder and assault causing bodily injury. The individual faces charges in the Northern District of Texas for illegal reentry after deportation.
• A 36-year-old citizen of Mexico in Trussville, Alabama, convicted of felony possession of a fraud document, misdemeanor indecent exposure and misdemeanor pistol carrying without license. The individual faces charges in the Northern District of Alabama for illegal reentry after deportation.
• A 30-year-old citizen of Mexico in Grants, New Mexico, convicted of felony shooting at or from a motor vehicle, felony aggravated battery and felony great bodily harm by vehicle. The individual is charged in the District of New Mexico for illegal reentry after deportation.

ICE reported that in fiscal 2023 having arresting 73,822 non-citizens with criminal histories. The arrestees reportedly had 290,178 associated charges and convictions with an average of four per individual.=

Offenses included 33,209 assaults; 4,390 sex and sexual assaults; 7,520 weapons offenses; 1,713 charges or convictions for homicide; and 1,655 kidnapping offenses, ICE reported.
